It is obviously very difficult to predict a player’s performance at a new club with any degree of precision. Even more difficult is predicting how someone unfamiliar with the league or English football will perform. It would be incorrect to put pressure on some of those guys to perform quickly. Some people may require “time and patience” to adapt, Marinakis said.
As the Reds attempted to avoid the drop, there was a clear emphasis on experience in the recruitment process back in January. While it was thought Gustavo Scarpa was at the top of his game, Danilo was one for the future. However, players like Jonjo Shelvey, Andre Ayew, and Chris Wood were all regarded as adding some expertise to the ranks.
The club’s winter business wasn’t entirely successful. There are never any assurances, therefore it may also be the case this summer. However, it is evident from the implication that Forest is planning for the future as they attempt to advance to the next stage.
