After falling out of favor with Erik ten Hag, Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho could end himself at Nottingham Forest.
Nottingham Forest are considering a move for Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho once the January transfer window opens, according to the Sun.
The 23-year-old is now not practising with the first team at Old Trafford owing to what the club has termed as a “squad discipline issue.”
The Englishman sent a statement on social media criticizing United’s head coach, Erik ten Hag, for remarks made following a game against Arsenal shortly before the international break.
Sancho has denied that his absence from the squad was due to poor training performance, which caused friction between him and the coach.
The winger has already removed the statement from his social media site, but he refuses to apologize. As a result, United has chosen to remove him from the main squad.
Ten Hag refused to discuss the attacker during a recent press conference, casting substantial doubt on Sancho’s future at Manchester United.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Sancho is open to a departure in January, as he has faced challenges establishing himself since his arrival at Old Trafford from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2021.
Forest have become a serious contender for his signature, especially because their head coach, Steve Cooper, has a prior connection with the youngster from his time as the coach of the England Under-17s team.
The Englishman took a break from United towards the end of last year due to personal reasons but was a regular part of the team in the latter half of the 2022-23 season.
Despite delivering impressive performances during pre-season, Sancho was only used as a substitute in the team’s first three Premier League matches of the season before being completely left out for the game against Arsenal.
He was also absent in the match against Brighton & Hove Albion, and his future with the club remains uncertain.
Several Saudi Arabian clubs are said to be kept informed about any developments, but it appears that Sancho prefers to continue his career in European football at this point.
It’s not unusual for United players to consider joining Forest, as we’ve seen with former player Jesse Lingard. While signing Sancho would be a fantastic coup for Forest, it would certainly not come cheap.
Nonetheless, a potential solution could be a loan deal with an obligation to buy, which could be a beneficial deal for all parties involved, provided that Sancho decides to leave the club.
In our opinion, the former Bundesliga star is a top player, but he hasn’t been able to take the right step in the Premier League
As of now, there have been no official updates on the player’s future. Although Sancho will be waiting for his chance in the starting XI, it remains to be seen whether the winger can regain Ten Hag’s faith.
