Pedro Neto was commenting after Liverpool’s 3-1 victory over Wolves.
Pedro Neto, a player for Wolverhampton Wanderers, has urged his teammates to ‘grow up’ following their defeat to Liverpool.
During the first 45 minutes of Saturday’s match at Molineux, Gary O’Neil’s squad outplayed the opposition. Hwang Hee-chan scored after receiving an assist from Neto.
However, after Jurgen Klopp made a tactical change at halftime, Liverpool dominated the game in the second half and went on to maintain their unbeaten start to the season. Cody Gakpo and Andy Robertson scored for the Reds before Hugo Bueno redirected Harvey Elliott’s effort past his own goalie in stoppage time.
Neto responded to the defeat by telling his teammates, “We have to be more aggressive; against these teams, we cannot concede easily.”
“It was a difficult one. We dominated the game in the first half and finished with zero points. We must continue to work, and we must mature.
“We didn’t have the chance to get to their goal in the second half; we didn’t do what we did in the first half or control the ball.” It’s difficult to concede three goals after that first half.”
“They put more guys in front of us; we had to adapt better, and we didn’t do what we did in the first half, when we controlled the game with the ball,” he said.
“It’s difficult to do this first half and then concede three goals in the second half; it’s really difficult.”
