Terry Taylor will be ‘available’ this weekend, according to Charlton Athletic manager Michael Appleton.
Charlton Athletic return to action on Saturday when they travel to Shrewsbury Town. The Addicks have won four of their past two League One games.
Taylor, 22, sat out their last 3-1 win against Wycombe Wanderers at The Valley. The club adhered to concussion guidelines.
Appleton supplied the following update to London News Online: “He had concussion symptoms after the game and went to the hospital right away.” It was a little different for Alfie (May) in terms of protocol and his return to training
“He’ll be ready for the squad this weekend.” He’ll almost certainly be with the group this week and next. He will be fit and available as long as there are no side symptoms or bad effects from the initial injury, whether dizziness, blurred vision, or whatever.”
Charlton improves
Taylor’s return will be a huge boost for Charlton as they attempt to pick up another win under Appleton.
After parting ways with Dean Holden last month, they turned to the former Blackpool and Lincoln City manager.
The Addicks presently sit in 16th place in the league table after eight games, with ten points on the board. The London club is six points out of the play-offs.
They swooped for Taylor from rival third-tier club Burton Albion over the summer to improve their alternatives in the middle of the park.
Since then, the former Wales youth international has made six appearances across all competitions, four of which have been in the league, and he has signed a long-term contract extension until June 2026.
He began his career with Aberdeen before being enticed to England by Wolves. The Scotsman went on to make one appearance for the first team at Molineux before leaving on a permanent basis when Burton Albion came calling in 2021.
Taylor later played 69 games for the Brewers before joining Charlton.
