The latest Leicester City news is that Enzo Maresca made six changes for the weekend’s Championship triumph over Stoke City, which kept the team atop the table.
Leicester City midfielder Cesare Casadei believes the team’s quality will benefit them throughout the season as they try to build on their strong start to the season.
On Saturday, City earned their 10th victory in the first 11 league games of the season, increasing their points lead over third place in the Championship. The 2-0 victory over Stoke City kept Enzo Maresca’s club atop the standings, two points ahead of Ipswich.
After a busy series of games, Maresca made six changes to his starting lineup against Stoke. Casadei made his second Championship appearance and played 77 minutes. One of those named to the bench was Jamie Vardy. The striker entered the game in the second half and immediately made an impression, scoring the team’s second goal. Wilfred Ndidi assisted the goal and might have easily scored himself. The Nigerian international came on as a replacement in the second half, replacing Casadei.
From the outside, the caliber of the team is something that is mentioned about City. It’s also something that players understand they may exploit to their advantage over the course of a long season.
“It’s not bad at all!” Casadei spoke to the club’s official channels about being able to bring in players like Vardy and Ndidi. “They’re fantastic players.”
“We have a lot of talented players.” We have a really good team with a lot of talent. We recognize that everyone involved can contribute significantly to and benefit the team. We’re doing fantastic.”
Maresca will now have additional opportunities to work closely with players who are not on international duty during the international break. Casadei, on loan from Chelsea, will not be among them; instead, he will join Italy U21s for their European qualifier versus Norway U21s.
