Cardiff City is set to face Huddersfield Town tonight at the John Smith’s Stadium, aiming to reignite their Championship campaign after a three-match winless streak. Erol Bulut, the team’s manager, is emphasizing the need for significant improvement from his Cardiff City players as they prepare for their clash with Huddersfield Town. Following this winless run, the Bluebirds have slipped to the 11th position in the Championship.
Bulut expressed dissatisfaction with his team’s performance in their recent 1-0 loss to Blackburn Rovers, where Joe Rankin-Costello’s second-half goal made the difference, leaving Cardiff two points away from the playoff positions. Reflecting on the loss to Rovers, Bulut remarked, “I told my players that we should forget about this game and shift our focus to Tuesday. I expect to see a completely different team on the field, aiming to recover the three points we lost in Blackburn.”
Unfortunately, the Turkish chief will be without several key players due to injuries for the game against Huddersfield tonight. Kion Etete is still recuperating from a hamstring issue, while midfield duo Callum O’Dowda and Aaron Ramsey are sidelined. O’Dowda has undergone groin surgery and is unlikely to return to action until December. Ramsey, the Wales international, is in the process of recovering from a knee problem, with Bulut stating, “He has already started to run slowly, and he is progressing well.”
The Bluebirds have struggled to find the back of the net in recent weeks, scoring just once in their last three matches. When asked about plans to bolster their attacking options in the upcoming year, Bulut responded, “Until January, we have to work with the current squad and make the best of it. In January, we will need to make moves in the transfer market because it’s a necessity.”
