According to the South London Press, Chelsea and Brentford are keeping an eye on Charlton Athletic attacker Miles Leaburn ahead of the January transfer season.
Last season, towering young prospect Leaburn of Charlton Athletic made his first appearance in the starting lineup. His exploits at the top of the pitch quickly drew attention; during his rookie season, he scored 13 goals in 40 games.
This season, the 19-year-old has also begun in impressive style. In ten games across all competitions, he has recorded six goals and an assist while playing as a winger or striker.
The South London Press has reported that several elite teams are interested in the Charlton Athletic prodigy. Chelsea and Brentford, two Premier League teams, are reportedly monitoring Leaburn and considering January moves for the striker.
The Addicks are not under any rush to cash in just yet because Leaburn’s contract is set to expire in 2025. The League One team made it clear that they wouldn’t be letting him leave cheap when they rebuffed down a £3 million offer from an unidentified Bundesliga outfit in the summer.
Many talented young players have come through the ranks at Charlton Athletic and established themselves in the starting lineup.
One more destined for the summit?
Many talented young players have come through the ranks at Charlton Athletic and established themselves in the starting lineup. Leaburn might follow in the footsteps of many others who left The Valley to pursue greater and better things.
Since he’s shown himself capable in the third tier at such a young age, adoring looks are sure to follow his form.
Brentford and Chelsea are two teams who are well-known for bringing in young players. Mason Burstow, who is currently on loan at Championship team Sunderland, was actually signed by the Stamford Bridge team not too long after they pounced on Charlton to acquire him.
