Leeds United and Leicester City, both vying for a swift return to the Premier League, are keenly watching Fluminense’s John Arias as a potential transfer target. Although they currently hold the 3rd and 1st positions in the Championship, there’s a substantial 14-point gap between them, with Ipswich Town in between.
According to reports from TEAMtalk, several British clubs are set to scout the 26-year-old Colombian player during Fluminense’s Copa Libertadores final against Boca Juniors next weekend. West Ham, Crystal Palace, Wolves, Burnley, and Rangers are also expected to be present to observe Arias.
Arias, who can play on either the left or right flank, has contributed nine goals and 13 assists in 53 games this season. He has also earned 10 caps for the Colombian national team, often playing in a more central role.
This Copa Libertadores final is a significant opportunity for Arias to shine, considering his impressive form this season. As Leeds United and Leicester City, among others, watch closely, the winger will be determined to deliver a strong performance.
Arias began his career in Mexico but returned to Colombia in 2017. Four years later, he moved to Brazil to join Fluminense, where he has accumulated 26 goals and 30 assists in 135 appearances.
A potential move to the Championship or Premier League would present a new challenge for Arias, but it remains to be seen whether the initial interest from these clubs will evolve into a more serious pursuit in the coming weeks and months.
