Sunderland and Ipswich have to take note of Roy Hodgson’s recent remarks following

Ipswich and Sunderland may have taken note of Roy Hodgson’s recent remarks following Crystal Palace’s loss to Tottenham. Crystal Palace is currently having a decent season, currently sitting in 13th place in the Premier League after playing ten matches.

In their recent league match, they faced a formidable opponent in Tottenham, who continued their impressive start to the campaign. While there is no great shame in losing to such a strong team, Roy Hodgson expressed some disappointment with the performance of the young substitutes he brought on during the game. He had hoped they would make a positive impact but was not entirely satisfied with their contributions.

Hodgson mentioned Jes Rak-Sakyi, Naouirou Ahamada, and Matheus Franca, who came off the bench, and he stated, “There was no disappointment today about the performance. Although, maybe the young substitutes — who we like to think we can believe in and help us to a different level — didn’t show that. They didn’t do anything for us at all, really. We became much weaker when I made the substitutions.”

He noted that their performance was not up to the same level of intensity seen in the first half, and it made it easier for Tottenham to secure the victory.

Hodgson’s comments could be relevant to both Sunderland and Ipswich Town, especially in the context of Jes Rak-Sakyi. Both clubs were previously linked with an interest in signing him during the summer, and it’s possible that he might become available for loan in January.

While criticism from the manager doesn’t guarantee a loan move, Hodgson may believe that some of the young players at Selhurst Park are not yet at the required level. Palace fans, however, would love to see more of Rak-Sakyi in action, and he might be given more opportunities to prove himself in the coming weeks. If he doesn’t meet expectations, a loan move to further develop his skills could be considered by Crystal Palace.

Rak-Sakyi demonstrated his potential during a loan spell at Charlton, showing that he has the talent to succeed. In the upcoming weeks, it might become apparent whether he is ready for another loan, and clubs like Ipswich and Sunderland might explore the possibility of securing his services in the winter transfer market.
