Huddersfield Town has successfully made an acquisition outside the regular transfer window by adding the promising young winger, Donnell Garrick, to their squad. The 17-year-old talent was identified during a trial period with the Terriers after being plucked from the non-league team Emley.
Initially, Garrick will join the club’s under-19 team as he works towards earning a spot in Darren Moore’s first-team lineup. Lee Mellor, Huddersfield’s head of academy recruitment, commended Garrick’s dedication during his trial and emphasized the need for hard work in his daily training sessions with the club’s coaches.
Mellor also expressed his delight in discovering talented local young footballers and extended gratitude to Emley for their cooperation in allowing Garrick to continue his football journey with Huddersfield.
Notably, Donnell Garrick’s older brother, Jordon, is making waves in League One with Forest Green Rovers, having moved there from Swansea City in January.
Emley’s under-18s coach, Steve Stennett, shared his positive observations of Donnell during their brief time together. Stennett highlighted Donnell’s exceptional professionalism in his interactions with coaches and teammates, and he praised Donnell’s remarkable skills as he effortlessly glided down the wing. He, along with the rest of the Emley community, extended their best wishes for Donnell Garrick’s future success at Huddersfield Town.
