Leon Balogun has disclosed that he believes Rangers manager Philippe Clement thinks the team is making faster progress than initially anticipated under the new leadership.
Rangers appointed Clement as their new manager following the departure of Michael Beale, despite having heavily supported Beale in the summer transfer window. Clement’s first significant test came when Rangers defeated Hearts 3-1 in the Scottish League Cup semi-final on Sunday.
Balogun, who has seen increased playing time under Clement, emphasized that the Belgian manager has a clear vision for the team. According to Balogun, Clement’s communication style and the team’s performance suggest that they are ahead of schedule in certain aspects of implementing his strategies.
Balogun stated, “He is quite clear and strong in what he wants and demands. But I think he conveys his message effectively, which is evident in our performances. If I interpret it correctly, we are possibly progressing faster than he initially expected in terms of how quickly we are adopting his ideas and what he is trying to instill in the team. Everyone is delighted with our progress, especially considering the stakes and our recent performance.”
As the Scottish League Cup final approaches in mid-December, Balogun hopes to secure a starting spot in the team.
