Huddersfield Town Manager, Darren Moore, participated in activities organized by the Huddersfield Town Foundation as part of the English Football League’s (EFL) Week of Action. This annual event provides an opportunity for EFL Clubs and their Club Community Organizations (CCOs) to highlight and celebrate the community projects they run. Across the country, more than 840,000 individuals have taken part in EFL Club community initiatives, amassing nearly 580,000 hours of participation throughout the season.

Darren Moore’s day started with a visit to St Thomas CE (VE) Primary School, where he interacted with students attending the Foundation’s Breakfast Club, a program that has been running since 2018. During this visit, pupils had the chance to prepare toast and cereal for him. Moore also revealed a special shirt commemorating the Huddersfield Town Foundation’s achievement of serving over 2.5 million meals across 40 schools in Kirklees since its establishment in 2012.

Moore then attended an assembly at the school, led by Laura Neimantas, the Foundation’s Premier League Primary Stars manager. The assembly’s theme was “What Makes a Footballer?” and explored qualities such as resilience, teamwork, and confidence.

Later, Moore headed to the Community Hub at the John Smith’s Stadium to meet students participating in the Foundation’s Degree Programme, a partnership with the University of South Wales and the EFL Trust. He engaged in a Q&A session with the students, discussing various aspects of his playing career, managerial journey, and coaching experiences, providing valuable insights and advice.

Moore expressed his enthusiasm for getting a glimpse of the Foundation’s work in Kirklees, emphasizing its significance for the club. He commended the Foundation’s long-standing engagement with local schools and its efforts in helping people progress in life.

Siobhan Atkinson, the Foundation’s Chief Executive Officer, noted the importance of showcasing their work to Darren Moore and highlighted the positive impact his visit had on the school’s students, as they were inspired by his words of dedication and ambition.
