Ollie Palmer remained confident that Wrexham would quickly regain their winning form. Under the leadership of Phil Parkinson, the team secured the National League title during the record-breaking 2022-23 season. However, they got off to a slow start in their first season back in the Football League after 15 years.

While one victory and three draws in the first five League Two games were not disastrous, Wrexham gradually found their footing. Their 2-1 FA Cup first-round victory over Mansfield Town on Saturday extended their unbeaten streak to nine games in all competitions.

In the last five league games, they won four, which propelled Wrexham to third place in the table, trailing leaders Stockport County by five points. Palmer emphasized the importance of turning draws into wins

“Even when we were drawing games, we believed we could build momentum and convert those draws into victories,” said Palmer, who scored his fourth goal of the season in the recent 2-0 league win against Notts County, which took place 10 days ago. “We have managed to do that recently.”

He also highlighted the reality that it’s not always going to be smooth sailing, but their commitment and the quality of their players enable them to pick up points consistently, regardless of who is on the field.

“We have a strong squad,” Palmer concluded.
