The owner of Reading FC, Dai Yongge, has settled two outstanding tax bills with HMRC after the club received a winding-up petition due to unpaid taxes for both September and October. This failure to pay had led to the club being placed back on the EFL’s embargo list.
This isn’t the first time the club faced a winding-up petition earlier in the season, but it was cleared in June following a late tax payment. Currently, Dai Yongge is engaged in discussions with various parties regarding the potential sale of the club, and these negotiations have been ongoing for the past month
Reading FC will be back in League One action tonight as they host Bristol Rovers. It’s worth noting that Ruben Selles’ side currently occupies the bottom position in the league table.
