Vikings TE T.J. Hockenson’s 3-word message on injury status

Minnesota Vikings tight end T.J. Hockenson is determined to take the field against the New Orleans Saints despite nursing a rib/oblique injury. Despite the persistent pain, Hockenson has displayed remarkable resilience by not missing any games.

When questioned about his availability for the upcoming matchup against the Saints, Hockenson expressed his intent, stating, “That’s the plan,” according to ESPN’s Kevin Seifert. The Vikings’ offensive unit has faced a string of injuries, with Kirk Cousins sidelined for the season due to a torn Achilles, Justin Jefferson slowly recovering from a hamstring injury, and K.J. Osborn dealing with a concerning concussion suffered in the previous week.

Despite these setbacks, the Vikings have managed to secure a four-game winning streak. In the absence of Cousins, former Arizona Cardinals quarterback Joshua Dobbs, who joined the team less than a week prior, delivered a remarkable performance, orchestrating a late-game comeback to secure a 31-28 victory over the Atlanta Falcons.

With the offense adjusting to the challenges posed by injuries, the focus has shifted to Hockenson and rookie wide receiver Jordan Addison. Hockenson, demonstrating exceptional grit, led the team in receiving during the recent triumph over the Falcons, accumulating seven receptions for 69 yards. His season statistics include 60 receptions for 547 yards and three touchdowns, leading all tight ends in targets and receptions and ranking second in yards, only surpassed by Travis Kelce.

In addition to Hockenson’s contributions, Addison has emerged as a key player in the receiving game. The rookie earned the NFC Offensive Rookie of the Month in October and has recorded 41 receptions for 534 yards and seven touchdowns so far this season.
