DON DEAL : Los Angeles Rams has confirm the signing of another potential quarterback

The decision for the New York Jets not to sign Carson Wentz, who recently joined the Los Angeles Rams, has raised questions about whether it was the right move. Wentz, a veteran quarterback, had been linked to potential quarterback replacements throughout the season due to injuries in various teams’ QB rooms.

Despite the Jets dealing with quarterback challenges throughout the year, including losing star quarterback Aaron Rodgers to a torn Achilles in Week 1, they opted to stick with their in-house player, Zach Wilson. Even after Wentz’s camp reportedly reached out to the Jets following a recent loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, New York showed no interest in signing him, as per Ian Rapoport at NFL Network.

Details of Carson Wentz's contract with Rams revealed

The potential opportunity for Wentz to join the Jets seemed appealing, given their preseason expectations to compete in the postseason with Rodgers. However, the Jets, for reasons undisclosed, did not pursue the quarterback option.

Wentz is now part of a talented quarterback room with the Rams, including Matthew Stafford and Stetson Bennett. Currently, he is the healthiest option in that group, as Stafford deals with a thumb injury, and Bennett was placed on the non-football-related reserve list earlier in the season.

Wentz’s recent performance with the Washington Commanders, where he recorded 11 touchdowns and nine interceptions in eight games, was not particularly impressive. However, he aims to revive his career under the guidance of head coach Sean McVay and within an offense known for supporting quarterbacks who excel in throwing the ball downfield. The outcome of this decision will only become clear as the season progresses.
