Leicester City midfielder Harry Winks remains optimistic and believes his team will bounce back after suffering two consecutive defeats. The Foxes lost 1-0 to Leeds United and then faced another 1-0 defeat at the hands of Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium.
Winks expressed frustration with the recent results, particularly noting that Leicester dominated the game against Middlesbrough, creating chances and controlling the match. Despite their strong performance, Boro secured all three points through Sam Greenwood’s 83rd-minute free-kick.
Leicester City, managed by Enzo Maresca, remains at the top of the table but is now level on points with second-placed Ipswich Town and holds an eight-point lead over third-placed Leeds United. The team will face Watford at the King Power Stadium after the international break.
Winks acknowledged the frustration of conceding goals from set-pieces but urged the team to stick together, stay positive, and believe in their approach. He emphasized that the team’s dominance in possession and creation of numerous chances are positive signs, and they need to maintain their belief and not get discouraged by the recent setbacks.
Despite the challenges in the last two games, Winks remains confident in the team’s ability, pointing out their strong performances throughout the season. He stressed the importance of learning from the defeats, staying positive as a squad, and not reacting negatively, as there is a long way to go in the season with plenty of matches to play. Winks is confident that, with the squad’s quality, Leicester can rediscover their form and pick up points after the international break.
