Mark Litherland, who is working alongside Redfearn, praised the wealth of experience that Redfearn brings, both as a player and a coach. Redfearn’s extensive background in playing and coaching was seen as a crucial factor in selecting him for the position, especially given the competitive field of applicants, including former Championship managers.

Litherland emphasized the importance of bridging the gap between the youth team and the first team in youth development. With Redfearn joining the coaching staff and Ryan Farrell moving to the head of coaching, the club aims to build on strong foundations and continue progressing in the future.
