Former Celtic striker John Hartson provided a review of the weekend’s resounding win over Aberdeen, focusing on Kyogo Furuhashi’s injury and the emergence of Luis Palma.

Kyogo sustained an injury 52 minutes into the game after a collision with Aberdeen defender Slobodan Rubezic. Hartson expressed concern for Kyogo and acknowledged the severity of the clash. Despite the worrying incident, Kyogo provided a promising update on Instagram. Brendan Rodgers also described the challenge as nasty, with BBC Sportsound pundits concurring that it was a dangerous incident.

In addition to Kyogo’s injury, Hartson highlighted Luis Palma’s standout performance in the match. Palma has been gaining prominence within the Celtic squad, and Hartson expressed his delight at the player’s emergence.

Hartson said, “[Go Radio], ‘A really bad injury for Kyogo; I thought it was a really nasty clash, and I felt it straight away. I was praying for him, that he’d make a full recovery and he’d be okay because when you see something like that, it looks quite sickening on the pitch.'”

Despite the injury setback, Hartson commended Celtic’s response to a heavy defeat, emphasizing their sharp performance in the weekend game with multiple players contributing to the scoresheet. He acknowledged that Aberdeen seemed a bit sloppy at times, but Celtic took advantage of the situation and secured a 6-0 victory.

Turning his attention to Luis Palma, Hartson expressed satisfaction with the player’s run of games and performance. He praised Palma’s ability to take on players, deliver quality crosses, and showcased his versatility with the ability to cut inside and score from distance.

Hartson highlighted the importance of Palma getting a consistent run of games, expressing confidence that the player will continue to improve with increased playing time. Kyogo, despite being called up to the Japan squad, will stay with Celtic during the international break to recover. Palma has traveled to Honduras to join his national team for matches against Mexico, and Hartson expressed hope for him to continue his good form on the international stage and return injury-free.
