Huddersfield Town’s recent struggles are evident when examining the average player ratings for the current season. The top six positions are dominated by defensive-minded players, underlining the team’s defensive strength despite their overall poor defensive record. The injured talismanic figure, Jack Rudoni, holds the top spot, highlighting his importance to the team.
Rudoni has been sidelined since sustaining a foot injury against Cardiff last month, and his absence has been felt keenly, with Huddersfield Town lacking impetus in his absence. Defenders Matty Pearson, Michal Helik, and Josh Ruffels also receive high ratings, showcasing the team’s defensive prowess. Defensive midfielder Jonathan Hogg and goalkeeper Lee Nicholls round out the top six positions.
Interestingly, it’s not until the seventh position that a more attacking player, Sorba Thomas, makes an appearance. On the flip side, summer arrival Tom Edwards occupies the bottom spot in the rankings, and attack-minded players fill the lower end of the ratings.
The average player ratings for Huddersfield Town so far in the 2023/24 season are as follows:
