Wolves manager Gary O’Neil provided updates on the team’s injury status ahead of their Premier League match against Fulham. In his pre-match press conference, O’Neil shared that Santi Bueno, Mario Lemina, and Matt Doherty are all in contention for the upcoming fixture on Monday.
Bueno had previously suffered an ankle injury just before the Tottenham game but has since recovered and trained with the team in the past few days. O’Neil expressed confidence in Bueno’s availability, stating that there should be no issue with him being involved in the match against Fulham.
On the other hand, Lemina rolled his ankle while on international duty, but O’Neil expects him to be fit for the upcoming game. Doherty, despite a tight hamstring, is also anticipated to be available for the match.
However, Pedro Neto will miss the game and is still a few weeks away from returning. O’Neil mentioned that Neto is progressing well in his recovery from an unspecified injury, but there is no exact timeframe for his return. While tests and check-ups are ongoing, the team is pleased with Neto’s healing progress.
Additionally, Nathan Fraser, Craig Dawson, and Joe Hodge will be definite absentees for Wolves in the match against Fulham. Hodge, though progressing well and back on the grass, will not be ready for the upcoming game as it comes too soon for him. O’Neil emphasized the need to ensure proper recovery for players returning from injuries, especially in the case of Neto, before they rejoin the group.
