Wolves supporters are planning a major protest against VAR for this month as

Wolves fans are gearing up for a significant protest against VAR during the upcoming Premier League match against Nottingham Forest scheduled for December. The Old Gold Pack, a fan group, plans to distribute numerous placards and create banners to express their dissatisfaction with a series of contentious decisions that have gone against their team.

Wolves have received apologies from the refereeing body PGMOL on at least two occasions, and manager Gary O’Neil contends that these poor decisions have cost the team seven points. The frustration reached a tipping point after the latest incident in a 3-2 defeat against Fulham on Monday.

In response, the Old Gold Pack is organizing a protest and has solicited donations to fund their efforts, claiming support not only from Wolves fans but also from supporters of other clubs. A spokesperson for the club emphasized the desire to represent the voices of fans across the Premier League who are growing increasingly discontent with the perceived inconsistency of VAR. Echoing Gary O’Neil’s sentiments, they stress that “enough is enough.”

The group aspires to garner media attention akin to the recent protest by Everton supporters against a 10-point deduction for financial fair play rule breaches. Wolves had previously experienced controversial decisions in matches against Manchester United, Luton, Newcastle, and Sheffield United.

In a related development, Wolves sporting director Matt Hobbs faced disciplinary action and served a one-game suspension for his comments about referee Anthony Taylor, as revealed in an FA report. Hobbs was charged with misconduct earlier in the month, received a one-match ban (already served), and a £4,000 fine. The incident occurred after the Wolves’ 2-2 draw against Newcastle, involving a VAR decision that deemed Hwang Hee-chan to have fouled Fabian Schar, leading to Callum Wilson’s subsequent penalty.
