According to Sky Sport Italia, AC Milan is set to make two notable signings in 2024. The Serie A club has reportedly reached an agreement to sign 17-year-old Serbian striker Matija Popovic as a free agent and is also close to securing the services of Juan Miranda on a free transfer.
Matija Popovic, currently under contract with Partizan until December 31, 2023, is expected to join AC Milan in January. The report suggests that Milan has already reached a full agreement with the player’s representatives, making the signing of Popovic a done deal.
In addition to Popovic, AC Milan is looking to bring in Juan Miranda from Real Betis as a more experienced player. The 23-year-old left-back is currently contracted with Betis Sevilla until June 30, 2024. Milan directors are reportedly set to have further discussions with Miranda’s agents to finalize the remaining contract details.
Miranda would potentially serve as a backup for Theo Hernandez, and Milan plans to make an offer to Betis to sign him in January. However, if Betis does not approve the transfer, Miranda would join AC Milan on a free transfer in June 2024 when his contract with Betis expires. The negotiations with Miranda represent AC Milan’s efforts to strengthen its squad with both youth and experience in the upcoming transfer window.
