Two outstanding Yorkshire players, Hull City’s Jaden Philogene and Huddersfield Town’s Michal Helik, are set to contend for the Championship Player of the Month award after making significant contributions to their respective teams in November. Philogene, the dynamic £5 million winger from Aston Villa, impressed with three goals during the month, including a remarkable backheel against Rotherham United. Meanwhile, Helik, a central defender and former Barnsley player, not only maintained a reliable presence in Huddersfield’s defense, which conceded only three goals in November, but also showcased his goal-scoring ability as the team’s top scorer, opening the scoring in a victory over Sunderland.
The competition for the award includes Southampton’s Adam Armstrong and Blackburn Rovers’ Sammie Szmodics. The winner will be announced at 6 am on Friday.
Additionally, Yorkshire has representation in the Manager of the Month category, with a White Rose manager shortlisted for the prestigious award. The region is thus well-represented in recognizing outstanding contributions in both player and managerial categories.
