Hull City are interested in signing a winger from Liverpool or Rangers in January.

Hull City is gearing up for a busy January transfer window as they aim to bolster their squad for a push towards the playoffs. The Championship side is reportedly considering a move for Fenerbahce winger Ryan Kent, who is eager to return to England. The club’s owner, Acun Ilicali, is expected to support manager Liam Rosenior in the upcoming transfer window to enhance the team’s attacking options.

Currently sitting in sixth place in the Championship, Hull City aims to solidify their position in the top six with a win against QPR this Saturday. Ryan Kent, who has made only seven appearances for Fenerbahce this season, scoring once and providing two assists, is reportedly keen on returning to England. Kent, who came through the academy at Liverpool and spent five years with Rangers in Scotland, could be a valuable addition to Hull City’s squad.

The 27-year-old winger had a successful loan spell at Rangers before making a permanent move from Liverpool to the Scottish giants in September 2019. However, he left Rangers in May of the current year and joined Fenerbahce in Istanbul. Despite earlier links in the Turkish press regarding potential interest from Hull City during the summer, it is now understood that the club sees Kent as a target for the January window.

While Hull City, Rosenior, and owner Acun Ilicali prefer a temporary deal for Kent, it’s reported that other clubs, including Nottingham Forest from the Premier League, are also considering a loan move for the winger. Additionally, Rosenior is looking to strengthen his attacking options and is not solely focused on Kent, as he aims to add depth to the forward line. The failed attempt to sign Keinan Davis during the summer has left Hull City with Liam Delap and Aaron Connolly as the only recognized frontmen for the second half of the Championship campaign. Despite having other players capable of playing in advanced positions, Rosenior is wary of being without sufficient options in the attacking department, recalling the challenges faced in the final weeks of the previous season.
