Borussia Dortmund is fully motivated for the Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain, according to manager Edin Terzic. Although Dortmund has already secured a place in the knockout stages, they aim to top Group F and deny PSG the opportunity. This scenario could favor Newcastle United, who need a Dortmund win to secure their own spot in the last 16 if they beat AC Milan.
Terzic expressed the team’s motivation, highlighting the sold-out stadium as a significant factor in pushing for a victory. Newcastle, vying for a place in the Europa League, is hopeful for a favorable outcome at Signal Iduna Park.
Terzic plans to exploit PSG’s previous struggles in Champions League away games, as the French champions suffered defeats against Newcastle and AC Milan. Emphasizing courage and intensity, Terzic believes Dortmund can pose problems for any opponent.
With Dortmund leading Group F with 10 points, PSG in second with seven, and both Newcastle and AC Milan on five points, the potential for a tie at eight points between PSG and Newcastle could see the Magpies advance based on their head-to-head record.
Recalling their previous encounters, Terzic noted PSG’s awareness of needing a win to secure their next-round place, while Dortmund aims to claim victory. Despite having beaten Newcastle twice, Dortmund’s manager acknowledges the competitive nature of the matches and the impact of a controversial late penalty by Kylian Mbappe in their encounter in Paris.
