Hull City fantastic star has been awarded the EFL’s Young Player of the Month

Hull City midfielder Tyler Morton has been named the EFL Young Player of the Month for November. The 21-year-old, on loan from Liverpool, has played a pivotal role for Hull under manager Liam Rosenior. Since starting in Hull’s 3-1 victory over Stoke in September, Morton has been a consistent presence, featuring in all but one of the Tigers’ Championship games.

Morton’s passing accuracy and ability to control games have garnered attention, and he has received regular praise from manager Rosenior for displaying maturity beyond his years. In November, Morton scored in two consecutive games against Swansea City and Rotherham, contributing to Hull’s climb into the playoff positions at that time.

Expressing his pride upon receiving the EFL Young Player of the Month award, Morton acknowledged the hard work he has put in over the past month and highlighted his growing confidence. The midfielder spent the previous season on loan at Blackburn Rovers, making 46 appearances for the club. Opting for another Championship loan spell with Hull City this season, Morton aims to continue his development and showcase his talent.

Morton’s performances have earned him a call-up to the England Under-21 squad, where he made his debut as a substitute in a European Championship qualification victory over Serbia. Reflecting on his career so far, including his competitive debut for Liverpool in 2021, Morton emphasized the importance of playing games and expressed gratitude for the opportunities he’s had.

With Hull City positioned just outside the playoff places in seventh, Morton is optimistic about the team’s prospects for the season. He relishes the busy Christmas period and looks forward to helping Hull City contend for promotion in the second half of the season, aiming to secure a spot in the playoffs.
