Dolphins’ Tua Tagovailoa reacts to Tony Romo calling Jaylen Waddle TD ‘big arm throw’

After the Miami Dolphins secured a win against the New York Jets in Week 15, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and wide receiver Jaylen Waddle showcased their chemistry, particularly in a notable 60-yard touchdown connection that left commentator Tony Romo stunned. During the postgame press conference, Tagovailoa acknowledged Romo’s astonishment but downplayed the significance of the play.

Despite the absence of star wide receiver Tyreek Hill, Tagovailoa demonstrated impressive passing success in Week 15, completing 21 of 24 passes for 224 yards and a touchdown with zero interceptions. Waddle, the primary target in Hill’s absence, caught all but one of nine targets, amassing 142 receiving yards and a touchdown. The Dolphins defied expectations by effectively navigating the Jets’ pass defense throughout the game.

 

Running back Raheem Mostert played a significant role, rushing for two touchdowns and contributing to the team’s success in compensating for Hill’s absence. Hill was declared inactive due to an ankle injury sustained in the previous week’s loss to the Tennessee Titans. With additional days for rest and recovery, Hill is expected to return for the Dolphins’ upcoming Week 16 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys, who are looking to rebound after a challenging game against the Buffalo Bills.
