Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson has provided an update on the injury status of defender Aaron Hayden, stating that the player is making “decent progress.” Hayden has been sidelined with a slight injury and has missed the team’s last two matches in all competitions. The manager mentioned that it is a minor issue, and they are monitoring his progress.
Wrexham is keen on getting Hayden back on the pitch ahead of important fixtures during the festive period. While he has been out, the team has other options in his position, including Tom O’Connor, Eoghan O’Connell, and Will Boyle.
Aaron Hayden joined Wrexham in 2021, making a move from Carlisle United to the National League. Since then, he has made 82 appearances in all competitions, contributing an impressive 20 goals from the defensive position. The 26-year-old had previously been part of Chelsea and Wolves in his youth.
Wrexham is currently in joint-2nd place in the league table, tied with Barrow and six points behind league leaders Stockport County with a game in hand. In their last outing, Wrexham secured a 2-1 victory over Colchester United at home.
In additional team news, Wrexham has received a boost with attacking pair Ryan Barnett and Steven Fletcher back in training.
