Miami Dolphins’ starting right guard, Robert Hunt, is set to miss the upcoming game against the Dallas Cowboys, marking his sixth absence in seven weeks due to a hamstring injury. Head Coach Mike McDaniel confirmed this on Friday, ruling out Hunt for the game.
On the offensive line, there are additional concerns. Austin Jackson, the team’s starting right tackle, is questionable due to an oblique injury. However, McDaniel expressed optimism, stating, “I cannot rule out Austin Jackson. I would not like to rule him out, and he shouldn’t be ruled out. We’ll get some work with him today and see how that goes.”
Meanwhile, starting left tackle Terron Armstead, who is dealing with knee and ankle injuries, returned to practice on Thursday after missing earlier sessions in the week.
Filling in for the injured Hunt last Sunday, Robert Jones, a 2021 college free agent from Middle Tennessee, played 61 snaps at right guard. Despite the team’s challenges, Jones performed well against the New York Jets, allowing only one hurry. In his four games this season, Jones has split time at both guard positions. However, he has faced challenges, with defenders beating him for two sacks, both occurring on the right side in Week 14 against the Tennessee Titans. Despite these setbacks, Jones remains a key figure on the offensive line as the Dolphins navigate injuries and work to maintain their performance.
