Eddie Howe now eyeing up three signings for Newcastle in January as concerns emerge about one player

Newcastle is actively seeking reinforcements in the upcoming transfer window to address squad depth issues exacerbated by unexpected injuries and suspensions. The club’s focus is on acquiring a defensive-minded midfielder, with Kalvin Phillips identified as a top priority to strengthen the team’s backline, which has been conceding goals recently.

Another concern for Newcastle is maintaining the fitness of their strikers, Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak, both of whom have suffered significant injuries. The challenge lies in finding an attacker of high quality who is willing to accept a rotational role, considering Isak as the club’s long-term forward.
