Ipswich Town now leading Southampton in a battle race to sign 21-year-old winger in january

Southampton is eyeing Amad Diallo as a potential transfer target, with the winger also capturing the interest of Ipswich Town for the upcoming January transfer window, as reported by the Sunday Mirror. The 21-year-old, who impressed during his loan spell with Sunderland in the Championship last season, is currently recovering from a pre-season injury and is expected to be back in action in January.

Russell Martin’s Southampton, aiming for promotion, is keen on securing Diallo’s services during the winter transfer window. Ipswich, another contender for promotion, is also reportedly considering the Manchester United winger as part of their squad. Ipswich recently concluded Dane Scarlett’s loan from Tottenham Hotspur and, facing a long-term injury to George Hirst, is actively seeking a forward.

The Tractor Boys have intensified their search for a forward, and Kieran McKenna, who previously worked with Diallo at Manchester United, views the winger as a viable solution. Diallo, eager for regular first-team football, is likely to carefully assess his options before committing to any club in the January transfer window.
