As of now, there doesn’t appear to be any immediate pressure on Newcastle United’s manager Eddie Howe from the ownership group, the Public Investment Fund (PIF). However, reports suggest that PIF will consider the manner in which the team performs when evaluating any decisions regarding Howe’s future.
It is acknowledged that losing at Anfield is not an uncommon occurrence, with most visiting teams this season leaving without three points. Expecting a victory at such a formidable venue might be considered unrealistic given historical records.
Nevertheless, the current focus seems to be on the need for an improved performance. Kieran Trippier has openly acknowledged that Newcastle’s standards have declined, and a potential heavy defeat at the hands of Liverpool could further exacerbate the situation. At this juncture, and considering the circumstances of the game, the emphasis appears to be more on the quality of the performance rather than solely on the result.
