Huddersfield Town manager Darren Moore emphasized that his team should not feel any shame for their performance in the 4-1 loss to Leicester City. Leicester dominated the match at the King Power Stadium with 74 percent possession, displaying clinical efficiency in the attacking third. Tom Cannon scored twice for the league leaders, with Ricardo Pereira and Stephy Mavididi also contributing to the score.
Although Michal Helik continued his goal-scoring form with a second-half goal, it served as a mere consolation. The defeat kept Huddersfield uncomfortably close to the relegation zone, and Sheffield Wednesday’s victory over Hull City worsened their situation, reducing the gap between the Terriers and the Owls to just three points.
Following the match, Moore acknowledged the superiority of Leicester, stating, “We were beaten by the better side on the day; they’re at the top of the league for a reason. The players shouldn’t feel any disgrace for their performance.”
Moore expressed disappointment with the second goal, believing it shifted the momentum away from his team. Despite some missed opportunities at 3-1, he credited their setup and approach to the game. He highlighted the team’s mental resilience, emphasizing their commitment and refusal to give up, which allowed them to get back into the game.
However, Moore acknowledged that Leicester’s fourth goal sealed the fate of the match. Despite Michal Helik’s impressive goal-scoring record as a center-back, Moore indicated that the team values clean sheets and victories more. He concluded on a positive note, stating, “We feel now that we are fitter and more robust.”
