Celtic has win Rangers in a battle to sign 27-year-old fantastic premier league defender

Celtic And Rangers Both Showing Interest In Premier League Star

Celtic and Rangers are reportedly expressing interest in signing Nottingham Forest centre-back Scott McKenna, as reported by talkSPORT. The 27-year-old, formerly of Aberdeen, made a move to Nottingham Forest in the summer of 2020 and has accumulated over 100 appearances for the Premier League club.

McKenna played a pivotal role in Nottingham Forest’s promotion to the Premier League during the 2021/22 season. However, in the current season, despite initially being the first-choice centre-back, he has lost his place in the starting lineup and fallen down the pecking order.

With a potential opportunity to return to Scotland emerging, both Celtic and Rangers are said to be interested in McKenna’s services. Celtic’s manager, Brendan Rodgers, is reportedly keen on bolstering his squad in the January transfer window, with McKenna on his list of targets. Similarly, Rangers, under the management of Philippe Clement, are also looking to enhance their options in the centre-back position, and McKenna is a player they have in mind.

Nottingham Forest is reportedly open to offloading McKenna during the current transfer window, making him available for potential suitors. While Celtic and Rangers are said to be leading the race for his signature, McKenna may also have other options to consider beyond the Glasgow rivals. The coming weeks will likely shed more light on McKenna’s future destination as the transfer window unfolds.
