Ipswich Town are reportedly leading in a race battle to sign premier league fantastic midfielder

Ipswich Town has reportedly entered the race to secure the services of Liverpool midfielder Fabio Carvalho, who is currently in search of regular playing time. The attacking midfielder was recalled from RB Leipzig after a limited opportunity to showcase his talents in the Bundesliga, registering 15 appearances, mostly from the bench.

Carvalho’s loan move to Leipzig followed a successful stint with Fulham in the Championship during the 2021/22 season, prompting Liverpool to acquire him. However, opportunities at Anfield have been scarce for the Portugal youth international.

Several Championship clubs have expressed interest in Carvalho, with Leicester City and Southampton being linked earlier. Now, Ipswich Town has emerged as a potential suitor for the 21-year-old.

Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth shared insights on the situation, stating, “Although he has gone back to Liverpool, they still want him to get first-team football, so I would expect Carvalho to go out on loan once again in this transfer window.”

Sheth mentioned the Championship clubs, including Ipswich Town, that are reportedly interested in Carvalho. He highlighted that all three teams, including Ipswich, are in contention for automatic promotion, making the 21-year-old an appealing signing that could potentially boost their promotion ambitions.

The report suggests that by securing Carvalho on loan, Ipswich Town could not only bolster their squad but also prevent promotion rivals from acquiring the talented midfielder. While it’s acknowledged that the team may have other areas to address urgently, such as the absence of George Hirst, Carvalho could offer valuable firepower and contribute to their promotion aspirations. The potential addition of Carvalho could be a strategic move for Ipswich Town in the competitive Championship landscape.
