Wolves may face disappointment in the transfer market as one of their reported targets, Fábio Carvalho, appears set to join Hull City. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano previously mentioned Wolves’ interest in loaning Carvalho, but other Championship clubs in the top six were also in the running. Sky Sports reports that Hull City is the likely destination for Carvalho, with an official announcement pending. The speedy nature of the transfer could see him potentially make his debut for Hull City on Friday night. Despite Leicester City and Southampton expressing strong interest, positive talks with Hull City’s manager Liam Rosenior suggest that Carvalho is leaning towards a move to Humberside. The 21-year-old, who spent the first half of the season at RB Leipzig, aims for more playing time after being limited to 360 minutes across 15 games, making only three starts.
In other transfer news, Wolves are reportedly interested in securing Danny Ings on loan from West Ham. The club is prioritizing loan signings to avoid Financial Fair Play penalties, with Everton and Nottingham Forest facing potential charges. Wolves have already loaned Fabio Silva to Rangers and Sasa Kalajdzic to Eintracht Frankfurt this window. Striker Ings is a primary target for Wolves, as the 31-year-old has struggled to find form at West Ham, having yet to score in 18 games this season. Limited to four starts, Ings is now a key focus for Wolves in their quest to strengthen their attacking options during the January transfer window.
