SHOCKING NEWS :Another Kansas City Chiefs fantastic star opens door to leave

Chris Jones, a key figure in the Kansas City Chiefs’ defensive line for almost a decade, is facing the possibility of leaving the team that drafted him in 2016. Despite winning two Super Bowls with the Chiefs, Jones is set to become a free agent after the 2023 season concludes. In a recent media interaction, the eight-year veteran hinted at the uncertainty surrounding his future with the Chiefs, acknowledging that Saturday’s playoff game against the Miami Dolphins might be his last at Arrowhead Stadium.

As the AFC’s #3 seed, the Chiefs are guaranteed only one home playoff game, and Jones emphasized that securing home-field advantage beyond Saturday would depend on other playoff results. Although Jones signed a new contract with the Chiefs in September, ending a preseason holdout, it was not an extension but rather an addition of financial incentives to the final season of his existing deal with the team. With one of those incentives, a $1.25 million bonus, triggered by his 10th sack of the season, Jones reached double digits in sacks for the third time in his career.

While discussing his future beyond 2023, Jones also touched upon the return of Tyreek Hill to Kansas City for the wild card round. Both drafted in 2016, Jones and Hill were teammates until 2022 when Hill was traded to the Dolphins. Saturday’s game will mark Hill’s first appearance in Kansas City since the trade, and it could potentially coincide with the conclusion of the Chiefs career for at least one of the team’s longstanding pillars.
