Wolves are reportedly exploring the possibility of acquiring striker Chris Bedia as part of their efforts to strengthen the team this month. Sporting director Matt Hobbs provided an update to supporters, emphasizing the club’s cautious approach to avoid unnecessary risks. While expressing support for Gary O’Neil’s pursuit of the right player within budget, Hobbs acknowledged the pressing need for a new striker, particularly following the loan departures of Sasa Kalajdzic and Fabio Silva.
Renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed that Wolves are closely monitoring the situation of Servette striker Chris Bedia, whose contract expires this summer. Bedia’s impressive goal-scoring record in 2023, with 28 goals, has attracted attention, making him the current top scorer in the Swiss league with 10 goals this season and an additional six in cup competitions. Romano mentioned that Werder Bremen, Bologna, and Wolves are all tracking Bedia’s situation.
Chris Bedia, an Ivorian striker with previous stints in Belgium and France, has become a potential target for Wolves, with O’Neil eager to secure a new central striker. Despite the interest, the move poses a potential risk, considering Bedia’s current participation in the Swiss league, which is perceived as lower in standard compared to the Premier League.
