BREAKING NEWS : West Ham has announces the departure of another fantastic star

West Ham have revealed yet another departure, with Gideon Kodua joining Wycombe Wanderers on loan.

On Friday (12 January), the Hammers confirmed the 19-year-old forward’s temporary exit from the London Stadium, as he joins the League One club until the end of the season.
It comes after fellow Irons academy product Conor Coventry was allowed to make a permanent move to League One club Charlton Athletic on Friday after finding his options limited in East London.

This is a deal that makes perfect sense for West Ham since it permits a highly regarded player to go on loan and gain crucial experience.

The forward has been in excellent form for the Hammers’ U-21s this season, netting seven goals in 12 games.
One of those strikes came against Wycombe in the EFL Trophy on Tuesday (9 January), when the young Irons were narrowly defeated 2-1 at Adams Park.

Kodua will join fellow academy product Freddie Potts, who has impressed on loan at the League One team this season.

While he’s clearly performing well and improving in the youth squad, the opportunity to go out on loan and see the nature of a first-team environment should benefit him in the future.

The teenager will be looking for a brighter career at the London Stadium than his former teammate Coventry, who made only 10 senior games before joining Charlton.

In other West Ham news, a journalist has revealed that two players are likely to leave the London Stadium in January.
