BREAKING NEWS : Huddersfield Town now set to announces the departure of another 22-year-old star

Huddersfield Town will let the 22-year-old leave for the rest of the season in order to give him additional playing time.

Austerfield, who hails from Morley, has made four appearances in all competitions in the first half of the season.

According to Nixon’s Patreon post, he is nearing a temporary swap to Crewe Huddersfield Town and plans to go.

A loan move to Crewe would increase Austerfield’s chances of playing regular football. At his age, he need weekly playing time, something Huddersfield cannot supply at the present.

He is under contract at the John Smith’s Stadium until the summer of 2026, thus he might still be a key player for the West Yorkshire club in the future.

Austerfield has spent his whole career with the Terriers, rising through the academy ranks. He previously played for them at various youth levels before making his first-team debut in 2020.

The Yorkshireman has made six appearances for Huddersfield and has been loaned out to Brighouse Town, Hyde United, Harrogate Town, and Morecambe to further his career.

He spent last season with the latter in League One, but is now projected to descend to the fourth tier with Crewe. The Railwaymen now sit in fifth place, three points behind the top three.

Austerfield will leave behind a Huddersfield squad fighting for survival in the Championship. Darren Moore’s men are four points over the drop zone.
