The Terriers have already signed four players this month, but there may be more business done before the transfer deadline.
Huddersfield Town’s owner, Kevin Nagle, has stated that the club’s transfer work is “not completely done” as they try to strengthen further this season.
So far this month, the Terriers have signed four players, including Alex Matos and Bojan Radulovic from Chelsea and HJK, respectively, as well as Radinio Balker and Rhys Healey in the latter half of last week.
Balker joined from FC Groningen, while Healey joined from Watford, where he made his debut and played the entire 90 minutes in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park.
Nagle set a January transfer window objective of six recruits in an interview with BBC Radio Leeds earlier this month, including the recall of Brodie Spencer from his loan spell at Motherwell.
With Town just one signing away from achieving that goal, Nagle has revealed that the club is looking to fix a “weak spot” in the team, adding that the Terriers are willing to work until the end of the window to complete any remaining business.
In a matchday journal released on X, Nagle remarked of the signings made so far: “Actually, I’m really happy with the way Mark (Cartwright, sporting director) and his team have executed.”
“We had a goal of six, and we’re currently at five. I believe the players we signed are really solid. In the legendary words of Neil Warnock, you have to sign people who are better than what you have, or at least as good, and I believe we have done so. “I believe we will see this in upcoming matches.”However, I’m not sure we’re done. I believe we have a weakness that we have yet to address, and we will be scanning for it over the next week and a half or so.
“The timeframe in January is quite challenging. Part of it is that you don’t have the breadth of players, or perhaps the quality, but the reality is that you now have certain players, to be honest, who are potentially Premier League players and are extremely costly, as well as those who may not meet your standards. There’s a center section that we really shoot for, which is the sweet spot, and I believe Mark and his crew really masterfully work that.
