Travis Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, made an unusual statement about Sunday’s AFC Championship Game, given the numerous retirement rumors that have circulated this winter. The Chiefs will play the Baltimore Ravens for the opportunity to play in the Super Bowl.
Many pundits feel the Kansas City Chiefs could experience turnover.
Several theories and reports have circulated regarding the future of head coach Andy Reid and Kelce. According to GH archives, last week, Michele Tafoya stated that Kelce was pondering retiring after the season
Tafoya isn’t the only journalist considering Travis for a television deal. This week’s big rumor is that Travis and Jason Kelce may collaborate on a TV chat show for a large media organization. The Kelce brothers already have a popular show called the New Heights Podcast.
Travis Kelce made an insightful statement about the Ravens’ game.
Kelce spoke with reporters on Friday about the Chiefs’ matchup against the Ravens. He made some interesting comments about this season and the AFC Championship game, and in the last week, several articles have been written about his likely retirement from the NFL.
Per the transcription of Kelce’s comments by the NFL’s website, Kelce said it’s a challenge to find success after winning two Super Bowls:
“Yeah, I mean, it’s a challenge to find new ways to have success,” Kelce said of questions regarding what he has left in the tank. “I think that’s what this year has brought for me is that obstacle and figuring out how I can get the best out of myself, figure out how I can get the best out of my teammates.
All at the same time being a great leader bringing that energy, showing for the young guys the type of determined mindset you have to have week in (and) week out. You know what, I love that challenge.”
Does Kelce want to go out on top?
But Kelce’s harsh comment about beating the Ravens should have Chiefs fans on edge this weekend. Kelce stated that he wants to win the game more than any other in the past.
“I’m not thinking about a single one I already accomplished,” he remarked. “I’m thinking about this one on Sunday, and I want it more than I’ve ever wanted one in my life.”
Kelce appears to have found another means to achieve success. But is Kelce retiring victorious after winning one more Super Bowl?
