Wolverhampton Wanderers have apparently decided on their asking price for Pedro Neto.
Although injuries have occasionally hampered the winger’s career at Molineux, he is now widely regarded as one of the club’s most important players.
During 2023-24, he scored three goals and assisted ten times in 18 appearances across all competitions, bringing his total to 14 goals and 23 assists in 129 games since his debut in 2019.
Neto’s contract with the West Midlands club runs until 2027, putting them in a strong position to decide his future.
However, Wolves must continue to guarantee that they meet all FFP rules, which they have improved over the last two transfer windows.
While there will be more room to spend during the summer, Wolves are also mindful that they may gain in the long run by maximising Neto’s value at the conclusion of the season.
According to Football Insider, several interested teams have heard that signing the 23-year-old will cost more than £50 million.
According to the source, a £60 million cost may be necessary if Wolves gain enough actual interest in signing the player.
Liverpool are the latest team to be associated with Neto, at a time when it is unclear whether Mohamed Salah will sign new terms at Anfield, especially given Jurgen Klopp’s departure at the conclusion of the season.
Manchester City is also reportedly interested in Neto, though they may have to part ways with one of its current occupants to make room in their team.
Wolves have done business with both clubs before, with Matheus Nunes moving to City last summer and Diogo Jota joining Liverpool in 2020.
Arsenal are thought to be serious competitors for Neto and are debating whether to increase their initial interest in the playmaker with a big-money bid.
Earlier this week, it was rumored that the Gunners dispatched a scout to observe Neto play against Brentford on Saturday, a game that Wolves lost 2-0.
