As OG Anunoby, Julius Randle, Isaiah Hartenstein, and Mitchell Robinson recover from injuries, the New York Knicks should look to the buyout market for players. The Knicks have had a difficult stretch as they fight injuries, but they must find guys to fill in the gaps until they can return to full health.
While options will not solve any of the Knicks’ problems, these buyout alternatives are not here to do so. Instead, they’d team up to provide the Knicks with regular-season minutes as their players recover. After that, they’ll probably serve little purpose on the team, which isn’t always a bad thing.
Ian Begley of SNY stated that the Knicks added Bojan Bogdanovic and Alec Burks primarily due to injury.
“I was told that the uncertainty/concern around OG Anunoby’s injury has influenced NYK’s deadline approach. Heard Anunoby was making improvement late last week, but he’s missed games since. Yesterday, NYK revised the injury description from elbow inflammation to bone spur irritation.
They weren’t added solely because of the injuries, but it did influence their trade deadline moves.
There aren’t many alternatives on the buyout market that will thrill Knicks fans, but three could help them.

Despite this, Robin Lopez, Danuel House, and Danilo Gallinari are experienced professionals who can provide them with the results they need.
Lopez, a 15-year veteran center, has lost his edge. He was traded from the Milwaukee Bucks to the Sacramento Kings and will join the buyout market, with the option of signing with a team that needs a third center. With injuries to
Hartenstein and Robinson, Lopez could fill that role for the Knicks.
Bucks general manager Jon Horst had the following to say, according to Eric Nehm of The Athletic:
“Hard decision, hard move. Because you even saw it just recently, Robin (is) not only a great person, a great teammate. Robin helped us. At this point in the season, with 30 or so games left, we had to make a decision. … We couldn’t add to our team in any other way unless we had a roster spot.”

Injuries Affect Buyout Options
With all of the ailments that the New York Knicks are experiencing, they must enter the buyout market. This squad has a chance to make a lot of noise in the playoffs, and if they stay healthy, their chances will improve even more.
It’s been a difficult stretch with injuries, but that’s something clubs struggle with all season.
