Edwards-Helaire has some experience playing with Burrow at LSU, so this combination could work for the Bengals offense. After Isiah Pacheco and Jerrick McKinnon emerged, it appears that his time in Kansas City has come to an end. The running back room appears to be filled with Chiefs, so a fresh start may be required. At the age of 25, Edwards-Helaire is a young and reliable running back with 441 career carries.

He has not yet played enough in the league to realize his full potential on a squad. He could improve his credentials by signing a one-year deal with the Bengals and then looking for a long-term contract. Edwards-Helaire remained around in Kansas City, piling up just

Gibson is the type of back that can be consistent in the passing game, making him a viable option for screenplays. This may complement Burrow’s offense, which requires another strengthening weapon that can accelerate all the way.

However, he is likely to stay with the Commanders to continue working with Brian Robinson. The new Kliff Kingsbury offense in Washington may entice him to return on a modest one-year deal. They may have to pay Robinson soon in the future, based on both of their expected results this season.

Dowdle is a more likely prospect to join the Bengals if they need a back to offer depth. Because of his lack of wear and tear, his price tag could be modest, allowing the Bengals to sign him for a cheap two-year contract. Dowdle hasn’t had many touches with the Dallas Cowboys, but he may still have promise. However, he still gained 361 yards and two touchdowns in his contract year, which bodes well for him if anyone needs a back to provide depth.
