Unbelievable : Fans Slam Michigan Players For Writing Caitlin Clark Notes Prior To Breaking Record

Iowa Hawkeyes player Caitlin Clark made history on Thursday night by breaking Kelsey Plum’s all-time NCAA Division I women’s basketball scoring record.

Clark enters the contest needing only eight points to pass Plum. She wasted no time, scoring Iowa’s first eight points and smashing the record with a spectacular pull-up three from deep beyond the arc.
Clark went on to score a career-high 49 points in a 106-89 win over the Michigan Wolverines. Fans, however, are outraged by what transpired next.

According to Iowa coach Lisa Bluder, Michigan players congratulated Clark on the record.

Fans slam Michigan Wolverines over notes to Caitlin Clark Rowe lauded the “class” of the Wolverines players. But not everyone saw it this way. Many claimed it indicated that the Wolverines knew Clark would set the record before the game even began. Among them is Lexie Brown, a WNBA champion and former three-time All-American.
Brown wasn’t alone.

Michigan Players Wrote Caitlin Clark Notes Before She Broke The S

“Bring back being a real hater because me personally I’m not doing that,” a member of the audience stated.

“Writing a note to your opponent before she smashes the all-time scoring record against you? Wack. While you’re at it, you might as well give up the game before it starts.

This was a common motif.

“That’s some nerd stuff, I’m sorry,” someone wrote.

“Today’s athletes are different. CC accomplished a huge feat. But the competition in me wouldn’t let me sit down and write a damn letter/nice remark 🤷🏾‍♀️. What are we doing now that she has broken history against us? “Lol,” another tweet said.
It’s also difficult to believe Clark, who is as competitive as they come, would have requested a note from his opponent.

She didn’t even want the Hawkeyes to call a timeout or halt the game when she broke the record.

Maybe save the notes for next time. Or at least send them a text message.
