Head coach Andre Breitenreiter will conduct his first press conference as Huddersfield Town manager tomorrow afternoon.
Huddersfield Town midfielder Jack Rudoni says the team “can’t wait to get going” under new manager Andre Breitenreiter. The former Schalke 04, FC Zurich, and TSG Hoffenheim manager was in the stands at the John Smith’s Stadium for Saturday’s 2-1 loss to Hull City.
Breitenreiter, who will conduct his first press conference tomorrow afternoon, is scheduled to lead Town in his debut match as manager this weekend against Watford. Rudoni complimented caretaker manager Jon Worthington for his attempts to develop the Terriers into a more offensive team. The midfielder expects that his team’s development will continue under their new coach.
“I think all of the boys, we’ve just been expressing ourselves more,” Rudoni told HTTV. “Especially for us front players, I believe Worthy gave us permission to be on the front foot.
“We want to press and win the ball back high, and when we do, we get closer to the goal, and he just says, ‘Don’t hold back, go for it, get in the box, and score goals.'” As you can see, we’ve been scoring recently, and we want to keep it up.
“Worthy has done an excellent job in the four games he has appeared in, and everyone is really pleased with how he has performed. He’s been fantastic with us, and with the new gaffer coming in, we’re all very pleased to work with him. He has an excellent track record, and we are excited to work with him.”
Rudoni appeared to have secured the Terriers a point in Worthington’s farewell match as manager with a 92nd-minute equaliser, but Town were unable to hold out as Jacob Greaves headed home the winner two minutes later.
Despite the setback, Town have demonstrated their competitiveness in their previous three games against Southampton, Sunderland, and Hull City, all of which are presently in the division’s top 10.
