Aston Villa have not ruled out signing Clement Lenglet on a permanent basis in the summer, although no decision has been made yet.
Lenglet, 28, was only utilized in the Europa Conference League for the first half of the season, but injuries to important players allowed him to start Premier League games.
There was discussion of the Frenchman leaving in January, but Unai Emery ensured that he stayed at Villa Park for the duration of his loan from Barcelona.
Lenglet has started the last nine Premier League games in a row, and Aston Villa are reportedly interested in signing him on a permanent basis.
According to Catalan daily Sport, the Midlands club has not ruled out the idea of buying the defender.
Emery has been impressed with the defender’s performance in the Premier League since joining the team.
He is presently playing an important part in securing Villa’s Champions League position at the end of the season.
However, Aston Villa has still to decide whether to try to recruit him from Barcelona this summer.
