TAMPA, Florida – Preparing for the NFL Draft is a grind.

Former Auburn players who want to play in the NFL must go through extensive training to maximize their talents and testing numbers. Avery Jones, a former Auburn offensive lineman, is currently training at Trench Academy in Tampa with the goal of becoming a professional player. The Tigers’ former center is in excellent shape and is continuing to develop his footwork, hands, and blocking principles with offensive line trainer Ray McNeil. Here are some video highlights from Jones’ most recent workout at Trench Academy:

Every rep is evaluated with the purpose of making long-term improvements. The now-former Tiger also praises Auburn fans’ passion for their team.

“I love being an Auburn Tiger,” Jones remarked. “The fans showed me a lot of affection and how much Auburn enjoys football. They take pride in being Auburn Tigers, and so do I.”

Jones moved to the Plains after three seasons at East Carolina. He appreciates his opportunity to play in the SEC.

“The change from the American Conference to the SEC was a significant one for me. Now I’m building my body up. I’m training, shaping my body, and preparing for the NFL Draft.”
